With the Free Agency period of 2017 winding down, it's not too early to look at what the situation will be in 2018 for each team. The Philadelphia Eagles are still in the midst of a rebuild and luckily don't stand to lose too many significant contributors next spring. If they don't jump into contention for a wild card spot this season, they most certainly will in 2018.

Potential 2018 free agency losses

The defensive losses the Eagles may have to absorb in 2018 free agency are relatively light. The recently signed cornerback Patrick Robinson could depart, but the team only signed him on a "prove-it" type of deal anyway. Outside linebacker Nigel Bradham could also leave the team.

The offensive side of the ball is a different story, though. The team signed Alshon Jeffery to be Carson Wentz's new top target this spring, but only to a one-year deal. If that relationship works out, the Eagles may be forced to pay a premium for the wide receiver. Not helping matters is the fact that No.

2 receiver Jordan Matthews is also scheduled to hit free agency in 2018, as are running backs Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews. The team could be stuck in an offensive rebuild right when Wentz should be hitting his stride.

Potential targets

If wide receiver is still an issue for the Eagles in 2018, there won't be a shortage of options available on the open market. Terrelle Pryor also signed a one-year deal with the team's divisional counterpart, the Washington Redskins. Other high-end options could include Jarvis Landry of the Miami Dolphins and Julian Edelman of the New England Patriots.

As for the defensive back issue that keeps hounding the Eagles, there are people to pay in free agency in 2018.

Cornerbacks Desmond Trufant and Xavier Rhodes will be free agents, though they will likely stay in Atlanta and Minnesota, respectively. Trumaine Johnson probably won't be sticking around with the Los Angeles Rams, though. Even safety Kam Chancellor could be willing to leave his digs in Seattle for the right price.
