The Nebraska Football team got its walk-on man in Kade Warner earlier this week, now they're looking for some defensive help from an unlikely source. Graduate transfers have always been a bit hit or miss for the Huskers in the past. No one can forget the saga of Sam Keller, the quarterback who was supposed to save the program and instead had a rather pedestrian performance.

Still, when a defensive tackle for the National Champion Clemson Tigers announced he would be playing for another school this fall, Mike Riley and company's ears perked up.

Competition is fierce for the Nebraska football team

While the Huskers would certainly like for Scott Pagano to choose to play in Lincoln, it doesn't appear they are going to be able to get the DT here without a serious fight. After Pagano announced he was looking to move on from Clemson, no less than 32 programs have shown at least passing interest in the player. Such is the saga of someone who has a championship trophy under his belt.

The Nebraska football team has an extra need for Pagano considering their depth at the defensive tackle.

LSU, Washington, Kentucky, Charlotte, North Carolina, Cal, Temple, Oklahoma State, FIU, FAU, East Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Maryland, Ole Miss, Utah State, Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, Texas A&M, Oregon, USC, Louisville, Oklahoma, Memphis, OSU, Baylor, Notre Dame, SMU, Purdue, and Hawaii have all shown interest, along with the Nebraska football squad. Pagano has said he won't announce his decision until May.

Other graduate transfer target has left Huskers in the dust

The Nebraska football team found out that yet another graduate transfer target appears to have decided against coming to Lincoln.

Jeff Badet had announced that he was going to be leaving Kentucky and the wide receiver got some early interest from Mike Riley and company. It appears that interest was one way, as Badet recently announced his final four and the Huskers weren't among them. Perhaps it's all for the best, as Kade Warner said he will indeed shun his home state schools for a chance to play in Lincoln.
