According to Uproxx on January 30, 2017, Conor McGregor is still insisting that a boxing match will happen between Floyd Mayweather and himself. If this happens, the two mega-sports stars will be bringing the biggest fight in history to the ring, when the world of boxing and MMA collide. McGregor and Mayweather have been extremely vocal about the possible fight.

Dana White steps in

Someone else, who is vocal, is Dana White, president of the biggest name in MMA, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). McGregor has stated that the fight with Mayweather will happen with or without the involvement of Dana White and the UFC.

In December, ABC News reported that Conor McGregor had been spotted in California filing the paperwork to get a boxing license.

Conor recently posted to his Instagram calling out everyone. “F*** the UFC. F*** Floyd. F*** boxing. F*** Hollywood. And f***you too pay me.” The description was posted on a photo with McGregor dressed in a black suit and tie.

During the press conference held after UFC Fight Night on Fox, the UFC president was asked about McGregor's Instagram statement. Dana started with comments which basically solidify what we all know, Conor is a lot of hype. He brings in a lot of money. That means he also runs his mouth a lot. When watching the video, you can see the amusement on White's face as the reporter brought up the Instagram photo and comments.

“You know how I feel with Conor,” White said. “I’ve always shown Conor nothing but respect and if he wants to go down that road with us, let me tell ya, it’ll be an epic fall.” Once that statement was said, White's fairly pale complexion turned red. The reporter then asked Dana if he felt it was going to go there, to which White replied, "I don't know.

It's not up to me."

TMZ reported on January 13, 2017, that Dana White made an official offer to Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor for $25 million each plus a Pay-Per-View split. This offer was caught on video, so there's no denying it. When the reporter asked Dana at the UFC Fight Night press conference if there was any more talk about this deal, White simply said, "No."

Conor McGregor chimes in

Over the weekend Conor McGregor did a Q&A session in Manchester.

While he talked a bit about the recent video of Nate Diaz and Floyd Mayweather being leaked, he also spoke about only one fight he wanted to see happen. McGregor wants to conquer two worlds, MMA and boxing, stating that he would do it without the UFC if he had to, but that he wanted to have Dana White on board.

McGregor believes with the Ali Act, he can fight outside of the UFC. The Ali Act is a federal US law put in place to stop promoters from restricting boxers. McGregor went on to say, "But I think it’s smoother with all involved. I think we’re all about good business. I’ve done great business with the UFC, with Dana and everyone. But again, everyone’s gotta know their place. So we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.”

What do you think, sports fans; do you think a boxing match will happen between the UFC's Connor McGregor and boxing's Floyd Mayweather?
