The marriage of "GoT" star Sophie Turner (23) and Joe Jonas (29) at a Las Vegas chapel was a surprise development. They had come to Las Vegas to attend the Billboard Music Awards and ended up exchanging vows in front of an Elvis impersonator.

The venue was A Little White Chapel, which is famous, and patronized by celebrities like Britney Spears, Bruce Willis, and Demi Moore. One of the videos that surfaced showed Sophie, dressed in white, as she walked down the aisle with country music in the background, courtesy the duo, Dan and Shay. The groom Joe was in the company of his brothers.

BBC reports the original plan of the pair was to get married in France and Sophie had confided to a section of the media that it would be "an intimate thing". She had also dropped hints that her maid of honor would be Maisie Williams. She co-stars with her in "Game of Thrones" and is her best friend in real life. However, there appears to be no information on whether Maisie was present on the occasion.

Sophie Turner and her idea of life

Sophie has been associated with "Game of Thrones" from the first season. She had recently admitted that she has a soft corner for people and she attaches greater value to their “soul” rather than their “gender.” It could be possible that Sophie and Joe may be having plans for a more lavish celebration compared to the Las Vegas ceremony.

BBC adds that a few hours before their marriage, the Jonas Brothers were on stage performing at an awards show after a decade.

It was the Billboard Music Awards and Sophie was on the front row. Beside her was actress Priyanka Chopra who is married to Joe's brother Nick. Sophie is believed to have said she never expected to settle down so young but the marriage is done. She justifies it by adding as an afterthought - "once you've found the right person you just know."

Cost of the marriage was $600

According to Daily Mail UK, the marriage between Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner in Las Vegas came as a surprise.

The celebrity couple began dating in 2016, announced their engagement next year and have now tied the knot in the presence of their near and dear ones. The cost of the ceremony was $600 and it was officiated by a person impersonating Elvis Presley. The program took place soon after the 2019 Billboard Music Awards where the Jonas brothers performed. Incidentally, Joe had indicated that they would marry in France, so they could be having a second ceremony at a later date.

Joe and Sophie took their vows at a chapel known as A Little White Chapel in downtown Las Vegas. Its unique feature is the 24-hour Tunnel of Love drive-thru weddings and its pink Cadillac. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner went for their ceremony in the Chapel L'Amour and the cost of the package deal came to around $600.
