Eunuchs, for whatever reason, are all over the stories told by "Game of Thrones" the HBO series has an entire army of eunuchs, marching through The North these days in order to fight the White Walkers. It appears that while Kit Harrington - otherwise known as Jon Snow on the uber-popular program - was shooting the scene where he rides a dragon, he almost became a real-life eunuch.

The actor sat down to talk to the media about how the stunt was shot since there are in fact, not real dragons to be ridden. The look of the scaly beasts are done through computer animation, but the actors really do ride a kind of contraption that looks a bit like what you might see from a bucking bronco machine that used to be quite prevalent in honky-tonk bars.

In order to better give a feel of riding the real thing, the machines tilt, jostle and move much like what you see the dragons do on screen. That means that when the dragon's scales are supposed to lift up, the machine has a part that lifts up as well. Harrington says that when he was jostled in the part of the scene where he almost falls off, he shifted in such a way that one of his testicles got caught under a flap that had lifted on the machine.

Jon Snow knows the joy of not being a eunuch

"There was a bit where Jon almost falls off the dragon, swings around really violently — and my right ball got trapped, and I didn't have time to say stop," Harington revealed to NowThis.

"In my head, I thought, 'This is how it ends. On this buck, swinging me around by my testicles, literally.'"

It turns out the "Game of Thrones" star managed to free himself before any lasting damage occurred, but it's notable that he really did think something was going to go very, very wrong. Since he was supposed to look rather uncomfortable up there, this being the first time Jon Snow had ever ridden a dragon, it's not as though the people shooting the scene would have looked at his face and immediately known something was wrong.

'Game of Thrones' stunts have a level of danger

Since the HBO program first started airing, there have been more than a few actors who have gotten banged up while shooting their scenes. Kit Harrington himself has talked about various injuries suffered while playing Jon Snow. For the most part, those are scrapes and bruises.

There have been some actors that have suffered broken bones.

When you are shooting fight scenes, where people are swinging swords and shields, fake or not, there are going to be some unintended consequences. All of those actors have managed to walk away from those injuries. It's safe to say that the latest and biggest "Game of Thrones" injury had ended differently, Jon Snow would have been walking a little funny for a while.
