The upcoming film "John Wick 3: Parabellum" is a visually stunning action sequel which will bring the assassin trilogy to a close. It is directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad, Shay Hatten, Chris Collins, and Marc Abrams. The first movie of the trilogy grossed over $88 million worldwide, and John Wick 2 grossed $166.8 million globally, more than four times its budget.
Cast members
Keanu Reeves will return as the titular character, along with a variety of newcomers, including Halle Berry as Sofia, "a woman on a mission." Other cast members include Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Lance Reddick, Anjelica Huston, and Ian McShane.
It's interesting to note that 'Parabellum" is latin for 'prepare for war', which is the theme of this sequel. Filming has been underway since May 2018.
Tick tock, Mr. Wick
John Wick is on the run for 2 reasons: there is a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life and he broke the Continental Hotel's central rule of no killing. The victim was a member of the High Table, who ordered the open contract on John's life. Winston, the hotel's owner, has given him a one-hour grace period before his 'excomunicado' membership is revoked, and he is banned from all services. He must now fight his way out of New York City. With hours left to leave. It looks like John will face great challenges in doing so.
John has to fight for his life, fighting off ninjas and other assassins. The world's most ruthless hitmen and women await his every turn.
John's allies
The trailer shows John asking safe passage from the Director of the High Table (played by Anjelica Huston) but she replies that she cannot help him. John is left with no other choice but to fight back.
"There is no escape for you. The High table wants your life," she confirmed to him. He seeks the help of Sofia, who is also an assassin. But with such a huge bounty on John's head, can she be trusted?
What to expect
The movie's trailer features John riding on a horse through New York City, leaving him exposed to the danger around him.
Get ready to see other animals - including horses, cats, dogs, a raven and a bunch of pigeons to make appearances in the film.
The movie is expected to be more intimate than the last sequel, revealing the inner workings of the Continental in New York City. Hold on to your seats, because it looks like it's going to be a bumpy ride.
