As "Game of Thrones" season 8 slowly approaches, new theories are starting to emerge. The most recent theory is a courtesy of Reddit user, cardiacman, and it offers a new perspective on how to stop the Night King and his ever-growing Army of the Dead.

The theory may sound pretty far-fetched, impossible even, and it's definitely not something I would personally bet on, but then again, this is "Game of Thrones" we're talking about here, a show with fire-breathing beasts, icy demons, shadow babies and whatnot, so I think we can pretty much take the impossible off the table.

That said, let's hop right into the theory.

All those who burned will rise

According to Reddit user, cardiacman, all characters that have been burned to death (or burned after death) will be reincarnated by the Lord of Light.

Now, as I said, this theory sounds pretty far-fetched, at first. The Redditor says as much in his post, butt he does offer some evidence from both the books and the show to back it all up. So let's go over all the facts this theory is based on, and see if this is something that could actually happen in "Game of Thrones" season 8.

First of all, it's worth mentioning that the Red Priests are definitely capable of resurrecting the dead. At least some of them are. Take, Thoros of Myr, for example, he brought Beric Dondarrion back from the dead multiple times.

And Melisandre did the same to Jon Snow in "Game of Thrones" season 6.

Speaking of Melisandre, we know that she will be going to Volantis in season 8 possibly to recruit all the Red Priests, Priestesses and other fire worshipers from the Great Temple of R'hllor. That could very well mean that we'll see more resurrections in the last season.

Who will be resurrected?

The Redditor then goes on to talk about R'hllor (The Lord of Light) and Great Other, the two gods in eternal conflict with each other. That said, it stands the reason to believe that when the time comes R'hllor's army which in this theory is the army of the resurrected burned dead will be fighting the servants of the Great Other, the White Walkers, and wights.

"You fight an army with an army," the Reddit user writes, "an army of burned dead people that you resurrect." And those people include "key individuals" such as Khal Drogo, Loras Tyrell, Ned Stark's father Rickard who was burned by the Mad King Aerys.

Speaking of the Mad King, this theory also claims that Bran Stark will go back in time and convince the Mad King to burn people in order to "bolster R'hllor's ranks."

"Game of Thrones" season 8 is set to premiere in April 2019.
