When a veteran Hollywood actor like Clint Eastwood decides to direct a movie and also play the leading role in it, the occasion becomes a memorable one for all those involved in it. The movie is “The Mule” where Clint portrays the role of Leo Sharp, a drug mule attached to a leading drug cartel in Mexico. Leo was a WWII veteran who used to move cocaine for the Sinaloa cartel and was arrested in 2011. He was 87 at the time.

Hot New Hip Hop reports that the movie is based on a true story and will be the latest screen appearance for Clint Eastwood.

He will have along with him Bradley Cooper who worked with him in the 2014 war drama “American Sniper.”

The movie has its emotional moments

In “The Mule,” Clint Eastwood is pitted against a DEA agent played by Bradley Cooper. A trailer has already been released. In it, the drug mule laments about the failures in his life and his desire to do one last job before calling it a day. In one of the scenes, his vehicle is seen pulled to the side of the road. The boot is loaded with the contraband, and when Clint sees an officer approaching, he tries to hide the cocaine.

However, a dog enters the scene and spoils the show.

Clint Eastwood is a versatile actor right from his days of “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" (1967) to “Dirty Harry" (1971). Those were action Movies of the past where the viewer could relate to the happenings around him. The actions were not generated through computer graphics but were real-action that the actors engaged in.

Clint’s movies have always stood apart in the crowd and he has left a deep impression on his audience. “The Mule” is expected to be another movie that will bear his unique stamp.

This could be Clint’s last movie as an actor

According to IndieWire, “The Mule” is a Warner Bros. production and they announced that Clint Eastwood will direct it.

The tentative release date is December 14, 2018, and it will be Clint’s second directing project of the year. The previous one was “The 15:17 to Paris” which was about a terror plot on a train. Anyway, “The Mule” will bring the 88-year-old Clint Eastwood back into the limelight.

Mexican drug cartels are known to be ruthless and Leo Sharp had linked up with one of them. Others in the movie are Bradley Cooper, Dianne Wiest, and Michael Peña Incidentally, Clint’s last movie as an actor was “Trouble With the Curve” in 2012 and the last time he played a lead role was “Gran Torino” in 2008. His current movie could be his last as an actor.
