Spoiler alerts for "The Young and the Restless" have now breathed new life into the rumors that Adam Newman will return to Genoa City. Ever since the role was vacated over two years ago, spoilers have continued to suggest that the character would come back to town. Fans have been on high alert, and now their desire may be even closer to becoming a reality. During a recent interview with TV Insider, "Y&R" head writer Mal Young stated that the door was left open for Melissa Claire Egan to reprise her role as Chelsea and hinted that Adam also may be back on the show.
Mal Young outlines a future for Adam and Chelsea
Spoiler alerts indicate that this coming week will be pretty predictable, with Lilly's trial and Summer trying to get revenge on her mother. Soaps She Knows reveals that viewers are in for more of the same with Billy gambling, Victoria having panic attacks and the ongoing issues with Jabot. Viewers need something new and different to shake things up, and Mal Young has just outlined future events that would reunite Adam and Chelsea.
In the interview with TV Insider, Mal Young explained that he killed off Hilary because Mishael Morgan wanted to close the door on "The Young and the Restless." Melissa Claire Egan stated that she might return so he gave her a different type of exit.
Young also added that it is entirely possible for Chelsea to come back to Genoa City with her husband Adam by her side.
Adam and Chelsea will be welcome in Genoa City
"Y&R" never truly finalized the issues with Adam before the cabin blew up and he was presumed dead. Chelsea taking Conner when she left Genoa City and leaving Christian behind also caused fans to wonder if there was more to the story. Celeb Dirty Laundry quoted Michael Muhney as saying: “I get tens of thousands of tweets like these in my feed. All day. Every day. For years. It is beyond humbling to feel the generosity of a massive amount of people.”
Bringing back Adam and Chelsea would give a boost to the storylines which now seem so predictable on "Y&R." It would please the fans and also increase ratings.
CDL states that the show needs some excitement now that the J.T. storyline is waning. If things in Genoa City continue to revolve around the plots that Soaps She Knows spoilers mentioned, then having the Newmans return will be the right move. Be on the lookout for updated spoiler alerts and keep watching on weekday afternoons at 12:30PM on CBS to find out what Mal Young has in store.
