A few days ago, Frikidoctor, a Spanish YouTube user who is quite known in the "Game of Thrones" community for his pretty accurate spoilers from previous seasons, released a new video in which he claimed to have some inside information regarding Tyrion Lannister's fate. According to this leak, Tyrion will be found guilty of treason at the trial that will be held in the Dragonpit.
As promised, Frikidoctor has now provided further details on this rather controversial scene. So without further ado, let's see what he had to say this time. Potential spoilers for "Game of Thrones" season 8 may follow.
The Dragonpit trial
In his previous video, Frikidoctor said that the Dragonpit trial will involve five main characters: Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Sansa, Arya, and, of course, Tyrion Lannister. This time, however, he said that Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, for whatever reason, won't be present during this scene - but the Stark sisters most certainly will. Also present will be Bran, Sam, Davos, who will preside at the trial, and surprisingly Robin Arryn, who we haven't seen in a while. Tyrion will be handcuffed and heavily guarded by the Unsullied led by Greyworm. The trial will also involve two new characters, one of which will be wearing golden armor.
Bran's role
But the most controversial part of this leak is Frikidoctor's claim that Bran will play a major role in sentencing Tyrion to death.
Just like it was the case at Littlefinger's trial, Bran will jump in his role of the Three-eyed Raven. Apparently, there will be another blast from the past, only this time, Bran will remind Tyrion of what he said to Catelyn all the way back in season 1 while discussing the owner of the Valyrian steel dagger that the Catspaw used in an assassination attempt on Bran.
This was, according to Frikidoctor, when Tyrion said that he never bets against his family.
Watch the scene Frikidoctor is referring to below.
As you can see, Tyrion never says "I never bet against my family" in this scene. But the line does appear in the books.
"Whatever you believe of me, Lady Stark, I promise you this," Tyrion said to Catelyn in "A Game of Thrones," the first book in the " A Song of Ice and Fire" book series "I never bet against my family."
My take on it
I could have sworn I remembered hearing Tyrion say this line in the show as well, but as it turns out, he really didn't.
And it is because of that fact that most "Game of Thrones" fans on Reddit believe Frikidoctor's leak is fake.
Well, I wouldn't necessarily call it fake, especially given the fact that Frikidoctor's leaks were pretty accurate before. And even if Bran says this line, it wouldn't be the first time that "Game of Thrones" included the quote that wasn't even in the show. What do I mean?
Remember how Daenerys told Jon Snow in season 7 that the witch had told her that she can't have children? Well, as it turns out, the witch never told her that in the show, only in the books.
When Daenerys asked Mirri Maz Duur when Khal Drogo will return, the witch responded with what many believe to be a prophecy. "When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east," she said, "when the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves."
The last line from the books that read "when your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child" was left out of the show but didn't stop the showrunners from referring to that line in a conversation between Daenerys and Jon in season 7. So they might as well do it again at the Tyrion's trial.
