The latest updates and spoilers for "Spider-Man: Far From Home" reveal that Peter Parker will likely wear his old Spidey suit in the sequel. Tom Holland posted an Instagram video on the set for a promo for his charity, The Brothers Trust. There are also reports that "Zodiac" movie star Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted in London where the "Spidey" sequel is filming.
The movie will take place after the events of "Avengers 4" as Peter Parker copes with the events that happened to him during their war with Thanos and the Infinity Stones.
He and his friends will go on a sponsored field trip to Europe, but things go sideways as Mysterio steals one of Tony Stark's inventions.
No new costume for Peter in the sequel?
According to Screen Rant, Tom Holland created a video for The Brothers Trust foundation on the set of "Spider-Man" Far From Home" and viewers quickly point out that he was wearing the old Spidey suit that Tony Stark gave him in "Captain America: Civil War."
Tony made that suit for Peter to better his chances against Captain America and his renegade Avengers. The suit had similar technology to the Iron Man suit such as a HUD interface and an A.I.
companion named Karen. It also has multiple web-based settings, voice changer, and a robot drone.
"Ant-Man and the Wasp" costume designer, Louis Frogley, told India West in a previous interview that Peter will have a new suit that reflects his growth as a superhero. Peter's journey in the sequel will not be easy as he is still saddened by the death of Tony Stark in the fourth "Avengers" film. Spidey tries to preserve Tony's legacy by getting back his last invention from Mysterio.
There are also rumors that former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury will replace Tony as his mentor and help guide him on the right path.
Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio
According to Comic Book Movies, Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted in London where the production crew of "Spider-Man: Far From Home" is currently filming.
While Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige stated that Gyllenhaal's participation is not yet official, his Instagram photo was enough to convince fans that he is indeed playing Mysterio.
Just like his comic book counterpart, Gyllenhaal's character will use his knowledge of special effects to create illusions that will trick the public to commit crimes. He will also have a partner as "12 Strong" actor Numan Acar has been cast to play Dimitri (The Chameleon) in the movie.
