She will, however, leave the door open for her character's possible return to Port Charles in the future. Soaps She Knows states that Nelle will continue to torment those around her so it looks like she will be evil and unrepentant to the bitter end.
Fans can anticipate the long-awaited showdown between Carly and her nemesis.
Chloe Lanier explains her GH exit
According to CDL, Chloe Lanier told ABC Soaps in Depth that it had always been her intention to exit her role on "General Hospital" when her two-year contract expired. She is interested in other acting opportunities but has not completely shut the door on her character. This indicates that Nelle will not be killed off as some viewers may have expected. Lanier told Soaps in Depth that she is indeed open to a possible return at a future date. CDL says that the actress shared with Soap Opera Digest that she cried her eyes out after her final scenes because she loves the cast she has been working with.
Lanier's character recently gave birth on the side of the road, with the help of Leisl Obrecht. She later gave her son to Brad, whose adopted baby with Lucas died suddenly. Nelle could return to Port Charles at a later date in an attempt to reclaim her son, but considering she would be a fugitive from justice, she would probably be apprehended and lose custody of her little boy.
