On Monday, July 9, on “The Young and the Restless,” Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Sharon (Sharon Case) fear the worst after seeing J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) outside Sharon’s place staring at them. They freak out and Nick is alerted. They fill him in about what they saw, and Nick ironically picks up the fireplace poker to check the perimeter. Meanwhile, Kyle (Michael Mealor) gets himself arrested after digging up Phillip Chancellor’s grave. He felt he needed to help Jack (Peter Bergman) to find out the truth regarding his real biological father (and probably the chance to get a piece of the Chancellor Industries) and now he is in trouble, via Soaps.com.
Nick searches for J.T.
For days, there were several suggestions that J.T. is back in the land of the living. But this is the first time someone actually saw his face. Nick tells Sharon and Nikki to stay inside and lock the doors while he looks for J.T. outside. Sharon warns him not to engage J.T. if he sees him. Nikki also tries to call Victor (Eric Braeden) to warn him about J.T., but she could not reach him. She worries that J.T. is on his way to Victor to finish him off once and for all. Nick returns later and informs them Victor is not on the ranch. Christian is safe as well. Victor arrives shortly and tells them he was out doing some damage control because of Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) departure from Newman Enterprises.
They fill him in about what just happened.
Victor reassures Nikki about J.T., but Nikki still fears J.T. is back. She tells him she thought he was gone for good. But with this recent event, she doesn’t even want to sleep alone. Meanwhile, Nick also reassures Sharon and Mariah that they are safe.
Kyle disappoints Jack
Elsewhere, Kyle continues to dig up Phillip Chancellor’s grave, and when Esther (Kate Linder) hears the noise, she calls the police to report there is an intruder on the Chancellor Estate.
Jack later receives a call from Kyle—he’s been arrested. He goes to the night court and Summer (Hunter King) follows him. She mocks him for the growing list of charges under his name. Kyle would not let this slide, telling her that the prison might have already felt like home to her.
Meanwhile, Jack expresses his disappointment over Kyle’s behavior and how he thought he could handle Jill (Jess Walton).
He tells him to fix the mess he did. Right on cue, Esther knocks at the door. Kyle apologizes to her for the trouble and tries to soften her up. She did and tells him she’ll try to convince Jill to let this go. After Esther has left, Kyle surprises Jack with a bone he found at the grave. He suggests they should run DNA tests and even plan to take over Chancellor Industries. “The Young and the Restless” airs on weekdays at 12 PM ET on CBS.
