"The Young and the Restless" spoilers tease that a massive showdown between Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victor (Eric Braeden) is about to erupt and it could change the Newman family forever. Soap Central suggests that a battle between the father and son will soon break out and it could shock Genoa City. What could the battle be about? Many "Y&R" fans believe it will center around who should have custody of Christian Newman.

Christian's paternity is an issue

Victor made a snarky remark to Nick on Tuesday's show. He let him know that Nick had no say in what kind of future Christian has at Newman Enterprises.

He pointed out that Nick isn't Christian's dad, Adam was. As you can imagine, just bringing it up and throwing the tot's paternity in his face was enough to send Nick over the edge. He was seeing red and was ready to battle his dad over the issue.

Nick tries to protect Christian

"The Young and the Restless" spoilers state that Nick knows it's too late to protect Noah (Robert Adamson) from Victor. Noah is enjoying his job at Newman and seems to be getting along well with Victor. And, it's pretty clear that Victor will never hand over the reins to Victoria (Amelia Heinle) or Abby (Melissa Ordway). In his mind, his daughters aren't capable of running his company the way he wants it run. That leaves Nick, Noah, and Christian.

While Nick realizes he can't save Noah from Victor's clutches, he refuses to let his dad have Christian.

It's setting the stage for a massive showdown and a shocking court decision regarding who gets custody of Christian.

Victor never loses

Nick's plan most likely will fail. Victor never loses. Even when everything seems to be stacked against him, he finds a way to win. This time will probably be no different. "The Young and the Restless" spoilers suggest that Nick will probably have to make a deal with Victor so he doesn't lose custody of his son.

Victor doesn't play fair and doesn't care if he hurts Nick. All Victor cares about is the end result, and, of course, winning.

It would probably be in Nick's best interest to strike up a deal with his father before this gets out of hand. Victor knows how to maneuver the legal system. In the end, if Nick continues to be stubborn, it could cost him custody of his precious boy. There's no telling what Victor has up his sleeve in the days ahead. Nick should be cautious as Victor isn't one to make an empty threat.

"Y&R" fans, do you think Victor is planning to sue Nick for custody of Christian?
