The release of “Better Call Saul” season 4 remains a big mystery—thanks to Vince Gilligan and AMC both keeping things about the series under wraps. However, knowing how eager fans want to know the next installment’s plotline, there is a new Reddit thread predicting Ignacio “Nacho” Varda (Michael Mando) might play a major role in the upcoming season.
Fan-made theories are saying Nacho is going to play a significant role in the fourth season of “BCS,” and it might have a connection with the cartel. Is he going to replace Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) or is Gustavo "Gus" Fring (Gian Carlo Esposito) going to reward him with something big?
A suspicious stare
Reddit user blackout03 assumes the cartel might think Nacho has something to do with what happened with Salamanca (also known as Tio) in the previous season. This can be seen in the way Gus Fring looked at him when the drug kingpin saw him giving Salamanca his medications. Gus’ stare might be implying something in his look that fans will soon find out in “Better Call Saul” season 4.
To recall, it was finally revealed in “Better Call Saul” season 3 how Salamanca was paralyzed in “Breaking Bad.” Before he started using a wheelchair, he was fully-able until Nacho replaced his medicine with a placebo. Although he seemed healthy, the drug runner has a heart problem that he has to take some medications.
Nacho saw a way he could save his father, who Salamanca dragged to the dirty world of the cartel, by giving him a different pill. The medicine’s effect made him suffer a stroke that ultimately led to making him paralyzed.
A new mob boss
With Gus’ suspicious look, the business magnate might look to confront Nacho in “Better Call Saul” season 4.
However, what he will do next to the intelligent career criminal remains to be seen. Is he going to punish or reward him?
Since the early days of “Breaking Bad,” it's been known Gus hated Salamanca. As a matter of fact, he wanted Tio to suffer rather than die an easy death. “A single bullet to the back of the head would be too humane,” he said.
So, with what Nacho did, he actually did him a huge favor.
In fact, it benefitted him. So, if fans are going to weigh-in here, there is a significant possibility Nacho will be celebrating this upcoming season. There are even theories that he could be the new cartel’s boss to replace his uncle. Fans have a lot of questions regarding the upcoming season and will get their answers soon enough.
“Better Call Saul” season 4 is expected to be released later this year on AMC.
