The latest installment by Marvel continues to defy logic at the box office. Last weekend the film shattered records but was not done yet. As of May 6, the "Avengers: Infinity War" just crossed the $1 billion mark in 11 days.

Not only is the milestone amazing, but achieved it in record time. In addition, the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie at home topped the box office with $450 million.

According to Box Office Mojo, the movie dominated the opening weekend in theaters. As you might have expected, the Infinity Wars cinematic project once again conquered all other films for a second consecutive weekend.

It grossed $112.4 million. It topped its next competitor by a margin of $100 million.

Other accomplishments and performance overseas

The movie's release has been met with excitement and lots of moviegoers have flooded movie theaters to watch it. The movie delivered the second-largest second weekend ever to date.

As previously reported, it has totaled $450.8 million at home in exactly ten days. It is on pace with another Disney film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and it achieved the above figure in nine days.

What is astounding is this "Infinity War" film has been popular internationally. The "Avengers" film featuring the arrival of the evil Thanos remained number one in every territory released.

It attracted sales at the box office of $162.6 million from 54 overseas markets.

After combining the overseas and U.S totals, the "Avengers" film has accumulated $1.16 billion. Furthermore, the film made its debut in Russia and surpassed "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales".

The country to lead the way with the "Avengers" movie topping all others was South Korea, which grossed $69.1 million.

The runner-up included the UK with $67.2 million, Mexico $48.7 million, Brazil $44.3 million, etc.

In just 11 days, the "Avengers" film reached the billion-dollar mark and it is the fastest to do so. It is the sixth time that a movie from the Marvel franchise to accomplish this goal in box office sales.

It is on pace to possibly gross $2 billion and achieve another mark

After such a short amount of time, it was natural to start discussing if the film has a shot at reaching $2 billion. Two Movies to hold that mark are "Avatar" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Jurassic World" is the top-grossing film in the summer to date. The totals at the box office were $1.67 billion. Can this Marvel Superhero movie dethrone previous record-holders? It will be up to time to reveal the answer.
