Tremaine Neverson, who goes by the stage name Trey Songz, allegedly strangled and punched a woman in a jealous rage. On Tuesday (March 6) the victim won a domestic Restraining Order against the R&B singer. In her sworn statement obtained by the Daily Mail, the woman claims she had been friends and occasional romantic partner with Trey Songz for a few years.

The assault in Los Angeles

The assault occurred in the singer’s rental house in Los Angeles on February 17. The two had been hanging out at the Boulevard3 nightclub when Trey Songz spotted her having a conversation with another man.

According to the petition filed on Tuesday, the two went back to the hotel where Neverson started assaulting her. He allegedly called the woman a "ho" and suggested she had been talking to the man to have romantic relations with him.

The woman claims Neverson started chocking her and as she tried to defend herself, he began punching her in the face. After she was able to break away from his grip, she ran out and started circling a car in the garage as she screamed for help. Bystanders watched and started to spread out. She also claims the singer chased her and threw her two phones off the cliff. Upon realizing what he had done, Neverson began to apologize and offered $2,000 to replace her phones before she went home.

In her statement, the woman claims she suffered migraines all day which led to vomiting. She went to the hospital the next day. She took photos of showing the bruises on her face, arm, jaw, and back. The images were presented to the court including a police report she filed at the hospital on February 18.

Upon reviewing the case, the judge issued a stay-away order on Tuesday and set a hearing for March 27. Lisa Bloom, the victim's lawyer, insisted that the move was to protect her client's right to a peaceful life and working conditions. The restraining order requires Neverson to stay 100 yards away from the victim and cannot contact her in any way.

No response from Neverson

Trey Songz is a three-time Grammy nominee and actor with movie credits. Neverson starred in a 2013 flick called "Baggage Claim," which gained a lot of attraction. Neither the singer nor his lawyer has issued any statement regarding the incident. Lisa Bloom is asking any eyewitness to the violence to come out and give a testimony. She also urged them not to be bystanders to a crime against women.
