On the occasion of the Academic Awards, the Best Picture Award is usually considered to be the most prestigious Award. As we all know, all the best movies do not get an award. Every year, one film gets the award for the Best Picture.

‘Titanic’ (1997)
A love story becomes as epic as an ocean. Till today everyone loves this movie. It has the magic that never fails to surprise. Every time we watch this movie, we feel like we are watching it for the first time. “Titanic” will always be at the top of my favorite movie list.

‘Shakespeare in love’ (1998)
This movie was directed by John Madden. It won seven awards from 13 nominations. This picture speaks for itself. It totally deserved the best picture award. It felt like the real-life Shakespeare had come back.
‘Gladiator’ (2000)
“Gladiator” won five awards that year. The story of a Roman General turning gladiator for revenge stole everyone’s heart. Maximus came to Rome to take revenge for the murder of his son and wife. He was at the loyal service of the emperor. This epic war movie deserves to be watched.
‘A beautiful mind’ (2001)
It is a sort of biography. Ron Howard directed the movie. John Nash, an anti-social mathematician, is the main character.
He lost his mental condition and commits suicide in agony.
‘The Lord of the Rings: The return of King’
This movie falls into the category of adventure, drama, and fantasy. Gandalf and Aragorn are the main characters. Director Peter Jackson puts his best to make this happen.
‘The Departed’ (2006)
The movie won four awards from 5 nominations.
It falls into the category of crime, drama, and thriller. Leonardo DiCaprio is an undercover cop. He is in the mission of arresting an Irish gang. The mission gets him killed at last. The movie is unique in its own way.
‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (2008)
Director Danny Boyle did his best to create the struggling character of an Indian boy.
The movie won eight awards. A Mumbai teen played in the Indian version of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” It is considered as the modern day fairy tale.
‘Spotlight’ (2015)
This movie expressed the issue of child molestation. It is unique in its own way. The movie sends a very important message.
‘Moonlight’ (2016)
In 2016, “Moonlight” won the Best Picture Award. This movie deserves the award in every way. The movie was about black.
‘The Shape of Water’ (2017)
This year at the Oscar, the movie won four awards including the Best Picture award. It was a romantic drama film. It was directed by Guillermo del Toro.
