Teen Mom 2” reality star Jenelle Evans’ husband can now have weekend visits with his son, Kaden. In light of controversial social media posts and his homophobic stance, fans are shocked that David Eason can have time with Kaden on weekends.

“The custody war is over,” In Touch Weekly reported. The decision to end the custody battle was based on finances. Kaden’s mother, Olivia Leedham, did not have the money to continue her efforts to keep David away from their small son.

The custody case, out of New Hanover County, NC, was closed on March 23, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.

Kaden’s mother plans to comply with the order the court has put in place affecting custody of Kaden.

Fans may remember that just last month, Leedham filed custody documents. She asserted that David was behaving in ways that concerned her and that were erratic. Kaden’s mom did not want her son around David or the property he shares with Jenelle. In court papers, the property was called “The Land,” The Ashley noted.

MTV moved to fire Jenelle’s husband from ‘Teen Mom 2’ due to homophobic rant

MTV reviewed the controversy and the social media backlash that David invoked. He posted a Twitter tirade that was blatantly homophobic. Then, on Valentine’s Day, he took to social media and posted a photo of Jenelle that angered fans.

The photo only raised the level of contempt that “Teen Mom 2” fans felt toward him. David chose a photo of Jenelle brandishing a firearm on the same day that 17 people were shot and killed at a high school in Parkland, FL.

David made no apology for the social media incidents. MTV executives fired him. Meanwhile, taping with “Teen Mom 2” star Jenelle appears to remain in limbo for several weeks.

She presented demands to MTV, which has not caved.

Will David’s son appear on MTV’s reality show with Jenelle and half-siblings?

While David and Jenelle have Kaden for weekend visits, In Touch Weekly quoted an “insider,” stating that a court ruling remains intact that does not permit filming Kaden, along with his half-siblings.

Kaden will not be appearing on “Teen Mom 2." Weekend visitation was granted because Leedham did not have the “cold hard cash” needed to continue her endeavors to prevent David from being with their son, according to The Ashley.

Past domestic violence kept David away from his son

The source close to the case told The Ashley that David and Jenelle have not previously had custody of Kaden for any overnight visits. David’s relationship with his 4-year-old son has been “strained” from the time the little boy was born.

Until the recent change in the custody order, which granted David weekend visitation, Leedham had sole custody of their son. The former custody order was granted after David was convicted of domestic violence.

Leedham was pregnant at the time.

The insider told The Ashley that Leedham’s family is “worried.” Her family does not know if the novelty of David and Jenelle will wear off or when it could wear off, since visitation with Kaden is still too fresh.
