Gigi Hadid may be a famous model but she is also the daughter of Yolanda Hadid, a former housewife on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." When her mother was filming the show, Yolanda revealed that she had been diagnosed with Lyme disease. It was later revealed that Gigi's siblings, Bella and Anwar, had also been diagnosed with the disease. For a while, it sounded like Gigi was the only one who wasn't suffering from something. But when her body started to change, some people seemed to take notice and some websites shared reports about how her body had changed and how she may be gaining weight, or losing weight depending on the time of the year.
As it turns out, Gigi has been reading these reports and it sounds like she is not happy about the way people are commenting on her body. On Twitter yesterday, Gigi Hadid decided to open up about a diagnosis she received when she was just a teenager. She explains that she suffering from Hashimoto's disease, and that she can't do much when her body is changing. She also pointed out that she is happy when she feels happy inside, not necessarily on the outside. Hashimoto's disease is related to her thyroid.
Fans think she's too skinny
It appears that many people have reached out to Gigi, revealing that they feel she is too skinny. On Twitter, she pointed out that she doesn't care what people think about her body frame or her body size.
She may be skinny to some people but she's happy the way she is.
While Gigi didn't have to, she opened up about the disease on social media. She explained that her body tends to be inflamed sometimes or retain water, which may alter the way she looks for periods of time. She also explained that she may struggle a bit behind the scenes when it comes to the way she looks.
Her mother has been accused of faking her illness
It's heartbreaking to read that Gigi is suffering from Hashimoto's disease, especially since her family has already been through so much. Her mother, Yolanda Hadid, was diagnosed with Lyme disease and she struggled while sharing her story on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." While on the show, Yolanda was accused of possibly faking her disease for attention as her co-stars couldn't see that she was suffering.
After leaving the show, Yolanda started feeling a lot better and it sounds like she's close to being able to live a regular life. Hopefully, Gigi's admission of having Hashimoto's disease isn't something that's going to work against her, given all of the drama surrounding her mother.
