"young and the restless" spoilers tease that Scott Grainger (Daniel Hall) could be leaving the CBS soap opera. At least, that's what the "Y&R" fans believe. After Abby (Melissa Ordway) was sent to Paris to handle Brash & Sassy's Europe transition, it left Scott with no storyline. Scott decided to buy Hashtag from the Newmans and head the company in London. So, does that mean Scott is off contract and leaving the show?
Melissa Ordway's maternity leave affected Scott's storyline
Melissa had her baby four weeks early. "The Young and the Restless" star planned on working until she went into labor in mid-January, but baby Sophie had other plans.
When she went into labor four weeks early, CBS had to write her out of the storyline quickly. Since she was written out, so was Scott. However, the fans will probably see Mr. Grainger again when she returns.
Abby should turn up in Genoa City in early March. Ordway said that she would only get two weeks of official maternity leave. CBS was in the dark for three weeks from mid-December to the middle of January. She is expected to return to the set at the end of January, making her first airdate in early March. "Young and the Restless" tapes five weeks ahead.

What's next for Scott?
"Young and the Restless" spoilers suggest that Scott's storyline is not over.
In fact, executive producer, Mal Young said that in 2018, Scott would try to fight for Sharon (Sharon Case) and grow closer to Abby. It sounds like he will continue to feel torn between the two beautiful women. While Sharon may want to move on and want nothing to do with Scott, Abby may not be able to resist. They have a strong attraction and could end up hitting the sheets again.
CBS can't get rid of Scott
"Young and the Restless" cannot get rid of Scott. They have written Michael (Christian LaBlanc) and Lauren's (Tracey E. Bregman) son, Fenmore Baldwin several years ago. The fans would not be happy if they decided to write out Lauren's son from the show.
Scott's story is not over; it was put on pause to wait for Melissa Ordway's return.
"Young and the Restless" writers are waiting for Abby's return to bring him back. At some point, he will pop up in Genoa City to apologize to Sharon for hurting her. He may not want a second chance, but he will probably want to stay good friends with her. It may be a tough sell as she is still pretty angry over his infidelity.
