If you have been following Kody Brown for a while now, then you will know that he stars in the TLC reality television series “Sister Wives” and that he also has four wives. The four Brown wives are called Robyn, Christine, Janelle, and Meri. None the less, Kody is in the news again this week as he has just opened up about the current legal issues he is going through to make polygamy legal so he and his family can’t be criminalized for it. However, it is worth mentioning that Meri could be leaving this family altogether as apparently she and Kody are having huge marital problems.
After all, Kody divorced Meri a few years ago so he could legally make Robyn his wife so he could adopt her three children from a previous marriage.
What did Kody Brown say about his legal issues?
Well, back in 2013 Kody filed a suit in the US federal courts for the Legalization Of Polygamy, InTouch Weekly reported, and he did prevail in the district courts in a 2013 ruling. However, a three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit ordered the case to be dismissed in 2016. This obviously angered the Brown family, and they said, “There are tens of thousands of plural families in Utah and other states.” They continued their statement by saying, “We are one of those families.
We only wish to live our private lives according to our beliefs.” Unfortunately for the Brown family, this means that the legalization of polygamy will not happen at the moment and despite the family’s efforts, the case will not be followed up by the Supreme Court.
What else are the Brown family up to?
With the Brown family still fighting for the legalization of polygamy, it keeps them busy, but that is not all they are up to. For example, Janelle Brown is currently on a journey to get healthier by losing a lot of extra weight. This is documented on “Sister Wives” but she recently opened up on her blog about how she still gets cravings for junk foods, and how she struggles with eating healthy food.
Also, as mentioned above Meri may be leaving the Brown family as she and Kody have become rather distant recently. The rumor of them splitting has gained a lot of steam over recent weeks as Meri just opened a new B&B in Utah while her family lives in Vegas, so she could be planning her big escape from the entire controversial family.
