Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have finally tied the knot! In a report by the Australian magazine Now to Love, it was revealed that the on-again-off-again couple has decided to take their relationship to the next level by getting married. However, the wedding ceremony was secret.
The couple met in 2009 while shooting the movie "The Last Song," which is when they fell in love.
Secret marriage
Even though they are a non-traditional couple who did not feel like they needed to sign a piece of paper to consider themselves married, it has been reported that Cyrus and Hemsworth decided to officially become husband and wife over the New Year's holiday while on vacation.
The ceremony took place in Byron Bay, which is near New South Wales in Australia. A source told the Australian magazine Now to Love that Byron Bay is such a special place for the couple and that it felt right to have the marriage take place there.
Over the weekend, Miley posted a collage of selfies with her beau on Instagram, to celebrate his 28th birthday. She has also recently announced that she would not be touring for her new album Younger Now because she wants to focus more on her role as a judge on the TV competition show "The Voice." However, some fans are suspecting that the former "Hannah Montana" star might be pregnant and that she is canceling the tour because of doctor's orders.
Turbulent relationship
When Miley and Liam met on the set of the movie "The Last Song," Cyrus was still somewhat considered a role model for young girls by the general public. Their relationship seemed very stable, and they got engaged in 2012. The singer's career took a backseat as she supported her boyfriend's movies, such as "The Hunger Games," where the Australian actor played the character, Gale.
Things seemed to be going great for the pair, but they split in 2013. Soon after, Miley shed her good girl image and released her controversial album Bangerz. During their time apart, the singer dated model Stella Maxwell and Patrick Schwarzenegger and was also linked to numerous other celebrities. For his part, Hemsworth dated Mexican singer Eiza González and was also rumored to be seeing Nina Dobrev.
In late 2015, Miley and Liam rekindled their romance in Australia, in the very place they got married a few weeks ago. A source told Now to Love that the marriage was an impulsive decision and that there was no planning involved.
