From Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams – these couples found love on the set of their movies!
It is no secret that plenty of Hollywood romances started behind the scenes of major movies. While some have stood the test of time, others have been brought to an end to many a fan's disappointment. Let's take a look at some of the most iconic couples who met on a movie set!
From hate to love
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling famously dated after meeting on the set of the romance classic, "The Notebook“. However, it wasn't all roses when the pair first met.
They were reported to have fought a lot on set, and at one point Gosling even asked the director to find someone else to replace McAdams while a reaction shot was being filmed. Fans of the movie rejoiced when it was revealed that the two were indeed in a relationship in 2005. Even though rumors floated that the two were engaged, they broke it off in 2007 and briefly reunited in 2008, only to part for good. While their break up shattered the hearts of many "The Notebook“ fans, both Gosling and McAdams have found new romantic partners, and Ryan is now the happy father of two daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, with his girlfriend Eva Mendes.
While Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher never hated each other, they certainly did not show an interest in one another during the filming of their famous comedy "That '70s Show“.
On set, they played a couple, and Kutcher was Kunis' first kiss, but for years they had been in relationships with other people. Ashton was married to Demi Moore and Mila dated "Home Alone“ star Macaulay Culkin for several years. Mila and Ashton reconnected in 2012, following his divorce from Moore, and married in 2015. They have two children together.
Breaking up marriages
Arguably one of the most famous, if not the most famous, couple to have come out of a movie set was Brangelina. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt met on the set of their 2005 movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith“, while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. While both Pitt and Jolie claimed that there was no cheating involved and that Pitt had parted from Aniston before they began their relationship, the tabloids simply could not get enough of the story behind the couple.
Once Brad divorced Jennifer, the two made their relationship public, and have six children together. Sadly, this love story does not have a happy ending – Angelina filed for divorce in September 2016, and Brad has since claimed that his problems with alcohol destroyed their marriage.
Oscar winner Emma Stone and British actor Andrew Garfield met on the set of "The Amazing Spider-Man“ in 2010. Stone played the character of Gwen Stacy, Garfield's love interest, and it didn't take long for the romance to cross over into real life. Emma and Andrew dated for five years, before splitting up in 2015. Even though their romance has ended, they continue to be good friends.
