‘Game of Thrones’ was first aired on HBO in 2011. The show completed its seventh season in 2017. According to the showrunners, Season 8 is supposed to be released this year. However, there were several rumors that the show might be delayed because George R. R. Martin did not finish the book yet. As he did not publish “The Winds of Winter” last year, the TV series season 7 took the audience by surprise. It seems that the same thing is going to happen again. The show has a tremendous fan following all over the world. It literally breaks everyone’s heart to hear that HBO decided not to release season 8 this year.
But there was still hope among the fans until Sophie Turner told Variety, “Game of Thrones comes out in 2019”.
Sophie’s confirmation
She talked to Variety about her upcoming projects. She also said that she was going to be a producer of her upcoming movie called “Girl Who Falls from the Sky. She plays Sansa Stark in ‘Game of Thrones.’ Her character is very important as well as sensitive to the viewers. Her statement surely disappointed the fans.
Casey’s confirmation
Casey Bloys told Entertainment Weekly that they had to write the episodes and needed more time to schedule the production. The makers of the show are putting their full effort to make the show. The writing team did not finish writing yet.
Bloys said that they will have a better sense when the writing team gets further into writing. Making ‘Game of Thrones' is obviously a hard task to do. The team is trying their best at it.
HBO’s confirmation
On 4 January 2018, HBO confirmed that 'Game of Thrones' season 8 will return in 2019. This show has set a very high level of entertainment and they want to get it right.
Season 8 will be the final season of "Game of Thrones," though after the conclusion of Season 8, five potential "successor shows," more likely prequels, are certainly possible. The previous seasons have created a milestone, so, the makers of the show want the last season to be perfect and an even bigger success then the previous seasons.
It is not easy to keep up with the expectations of the viewers. This is may be the reason that the makers are taking such a long time for the making of the show.
"Game of Thrones" is an absolute phenomenon, so it's hard – not to mention heart-breaking – trying to imagine the television landscape without it. If we look at the previous seasons of the show, we will see how huge and cinematic it is. This is such a big platform. The TV series combines all the cinematic characteristics for success. The next season will be worth waiting for.
