'Game of Thrones' Season 8 will end a fruitful TV series but the last season won't be aired earlier than 2019. Having to wait more than a year to finally get a conclusion for a complex narrative thread gives us an opportunity to step back for a while and undertake a cold-detached analysis of how the main characters transformed during the process. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) started from scratch to become of the poles of the HBO production. His characters went from nothing to all, but the pace had a lengthy feature perhaps allowing the viewer to catch all the transformations.

Sealing a deal with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow is determined to defend the people that proclaimed him the King of the North. Moreover, Snow's true identity indicates him as the rightful heir to the Iron Throne which may cause further tribulations especially when it comes to his relationship with Daenerys Targaryen.

Two poles on a collision course

Two of the most vivid characters of 'Game of Thrones', Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow is about to see their interests diverging. All the facts point to a conflictual future between them. Daenerys has put everything at stake for her dream to sit on the Iron Throne and lead Westeros. She might not want to share power with another entity, but at the same time, she may not have a choice.

After all, Jon Snow is also a Targaryen, and anytime he could step in with his claim for power.

The general of the Realm brings no comfort either. The political balance hangs by a thread filled up with treason and distrust. Moreover, the Army of the Dead is coming with the Night King determined to subdue Westeros. Thus, Winterfell will be the first big point of the next's season radar as the northern capital stands in the front line of defense.

The King of the North, Jon Snow is en route to his kingdom's capital too to take on the deadly threat that pierced through the Wall.

Jon Snow holds many secrets under his skin

Some may say that the beloved character has been living on a borrowed time since he died once at the end of Season 5. Others may counteract saying that he is part of a bigger plan which requires hi being alive.

A plot inside the Night's Watch saw Jon Snow being brutally assassinated a few seasons ago. With help from the Red Priestess Melisandre and some dark incantations, Jon Snow received a second chance.

The Season 8 will put him in direct contact with death once more as the Night King targets Winterfell to make an opening statement of the great war to come. Jon Snow will probably be at the core of all the main events of the final season. His role in the final endgame must be a big one too.
