While most media outlets are gearing up for Christmas, the marketing team for "Deadpool 2" is not skipping over Thanksgiving. Even though the film does not come out for seven months, it is never too early to start releasing promotional materials. Collider.com and Ryan Reynolds' Twitter page released exclusive promotional materials with a Thanksgiving twist. Creating promos themed around holidays is not new to the "Deadpool" marketing team. For the first Deadpool movie (which opened in February, the month associated with Valentine's Day), there were ads that were similar to an ad for a romantic comedy/drama, not a raunchy superhero comedy.
With "Deadpool 2" still in post-production, aside from a few stills from new characters Domino and Cable, this is the closest thing to a trailer that audiences can get for now.
A non-family friendly Thanksgiving dinner

It isn't Thanksgiving without a family dinner with freshly roasted turkey. This poster features all of the Deadpool/Wade Wilson's friends new and old. On the left side from front to back is Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, and Karan Soni as Dopinder.
On the right side of the table from front to back is Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, T. J. Miller as Weasel, and Zazie Beetz as new-comer Domino. One thing to note is that Domino does not feature a light discoloration in her left eye, which was depicted in earlier promos of her. Could there be a backstory as to how Domino gets her infamous look or is it just a small oversight on the editor's part?
Standing in the back of the table is Josh Brolin as Cable and Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool. On the picture from in the upper right-hand corner is Stan Lee, the creator of many famous Marvel properties including the X-men. Stan Lee is known for making cameos in Marvel movies and it seems as though Deadpool 2 will be no exception.
Deadpool takes over 'Good Housekeeping' magazine for Thanksgiving edition

Deadpool partnered up with "Good Housekeeping" to create a special Thanksgiving edition. This is the cover of a real edition of "Good Housekeeping" and will be available in select cities across the U.S. Included will be a letter to the reader, how to carve a turkey, and recipes for D's Spiced Nuts and Creamy Clam Skinny Dip; all written with the humor and wit of Deadpool. There are many innuendos and gags throughout the magazine that should not be taken too seriously.
This shows that the wise-cracking anti-hero will be exactly the same as we left him in the first movie. This is almost assuring the readers that they are in for another wild ride full of laughs and fun in the sequel.
Deadpool 2 will be released in theatres on June 1, 2018.
