Katy Perry suffered a stage glitch during her concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on October 18, Variety reported. But despite the mishap, she was able to remain poised and glamorous, even injecting some jokes in front of her audience.

It happened during a concert performance which was part of her ongoing tour titled “Witness.” This marks her fourth worldwide tour after the recently concluded “Prismatic World Tour” in 2015.

“Witness: The Tour” features her latest album of the same name, including songs such as “Swish Swish,” “Chained To The Rhythm,” and “Bon Appetit.” However, she also sings many of her previous hits during this year’s concert.

The incident

Katy Perry’s concert tours are known for their gigantic props and large-scale production sets propelled on stage while she performs her hits. She also wears various colorful costumes and engages in several dress changes throughout the show.

But during her performance in Tennessee, the songstress was stuck on a floating planet stage prop after she sang “Thinking of You.” Instead of descending toward the stage floor right after this act, Perry stayed for a few minutes on the Saturn-inspired props.

However, she did not lose composure and she was able to keep her poise by talking to the crowd while the glitch was being fixed. She safely descended back on stage and continued with the rest of her performances.

The fans laughed at her musings and appreciated the way she handled the incident. They applauded and cheered for her throughout the night.

This was not the first time that Perry experienced a technical glitch during an event. During her performance of “Swish Swish” at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, she stayed for a couple of minutes on top of a gigantic basketball ring after her act.

Concert tour

Katy Perry’s “Witness” tour kicked off at Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada on September 19. Since then, she has traveled to Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Boston, New York City, Brooklyn and Louisville in the United States. On October 9, she visited Quebec City in Canada.

After her fun-filled Nashville concert, she will head to Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles, San Jose, Salt Lake City, Denver, Omaha, Milwaukee and many other places before this year ends.

As the world welcomes 2018, her first performance next year will be held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, her official website indicates.

During the stage glitch, Perry revealed to her fans that the stage crew consistently coordinate with her through her in-ear monitors. She told her fans, “You better pick your phone up, ‘cause this is a YouTube moment!” A Twitter user named Dave Paulson was able to catch the action and posted a video on his social media account.
