The latest updates and spoilers for "Thor: Ragnarok" reveal that there will be an alternate scene between Thor and Hela in the sequel. Cast member Cate Blanchett talks about her character's motivation in the movie and why she hates Odin and his kingdom.
The official "Thor: Ragnarok" Twitter page posted a new TV spot for the movie that featured an alternate setting of the Thunder God's first encounter with Hela, and how the latter destroyed Mjolnir.
Comic book fans who saw the first teaser of the movies know that they will first fight in New York, but the trailer revealed that they will meet on a green landscape.
No more New York scene?
The sequel will feature scenes from earth as Thor and Loki look for their father, Odin Allfather in New York after he was banished from Asgard. The two brothers will need the help of Doctor Stephen Strange to search for their father as several behind-the-scenes photos revealed that the Asgardian king became a crazy homeless man.
However, the TV spot could indicate that some scenes from New York are cut from its post-production and reshoot schedules in the final product.
The trailer also featured Thor sitting on the throne Asgard, his newfound power, and Hulks fight with the Fenris Wolf.
More on Hela
Cate Blanchett revealed more details about Hela in the movie as she told Screenrant that the Goddess of Death might be the villain of the movie, but she is not necessarily "evil" to begin with.
"She's been banished for a very long time - I don't know how much I'm allowed to say," Blanchett said. "I think if you were locked under the Asgardian stairs for 5,000 years you'd be a little cross."
"The Lord of the Rings" actress also revealed the film's notion of death and how the Asgardian want to break the cycle of Ragnarok to live forever. Hela will unleash the apocalyptic event on Asgard and remake it in her own twisted image.
Thor must form a team to stop her consisting of Loki, the legendary warrior Valkyrie, and his fellow Avengers member, Hulk.
It is also speculated that Hela originally had the Soul Stone before Odin took it from her and hid it on his eye patch. The Infinity Stone will allow the death god to raise the dead and turn them into her slaves. Odin, on the other hand, uses it to replenish his strength during the "Odin Sleep."
The sequel will also set-up the events of "Avengers: Infinity War" as Thor heads to earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy to help Earth's Mightiest Heroes to fend-off Thanos and his Black Order.
