Warner Bros. Pictures streamed the final trailer for the live-action "Justice League" movie and it highlights the return of Superman to the DC Extended Universe and how his death inspired Batman to form the team to stop Steppenwolf's invasion of earth. The trailer will also feature more action scenes and the humanity's first encounter with the forces of Apokolips.
The studio also announced new changes on Steppenwolf and Darkseid's familial relationship in the movie and their reasons why they are targeting earth.
The heroes are all in
The trailer starts with Lois Lane going outside of the Kent family farm as she saw Clark standing outside of the cornfield and asked her if she would marry him. The scene shifts to Lois putting dirt on Clark's grave and wakes up in bed without him. The world is still mourning over Superman's death as crime and terrorism have risen to a whole new level.
The next scene will feature the Amazons and humans fighting Steppenwolf and his forces as they begin their invasion on earth. Bruce Wayne theorizes that this is more than just an invasion and that something darker is coming to the planet.
The Dark Knight assembles the league consisting of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash.
The heroes must work together to stop the invaders and Superman's sacrifice inspired Bruce to do better. Several highlights include a fight scene between Aquaman and Steppenwolf on Atlantis, Batman's new Batmobile, and The Flash's incredible speed. The trailer ends with GCPD commissioner Jim Gordon lighting up the Bat Signal as Barry Allen excitedly points it out to Bruce and Diana Prince.
Changes to Steppenwolf and Darkseid
It seems that Warner Bros. changed something about Steppenwolf and Darkseid in the DCEU as Geek Magazine claimed that the main villain of the "Justice League" movie will be the nephew of the lord of Apokolips.
In the DC comics, Steppenwolf is the uncle of Darkseid and his most loyal and faithful general in his army. Comic book fans previously speculated that Steppenwolf could be Darkseid's father due to his helmet design being similar Yuga Khan.
The villain will attack earth to retrieve the three Mother Boxes to power-up the Boom Tube generators and open a portal to Apokolips. The two boxes are found in Atlantis and Themyscira, while the last one is used to bring Victor Stone back to life.
The movie also teased the appearance of two Green Lantern members and two post-credits scenes. "Justice League" will premiere in cinemas on Nov. 17.
