Fox has released a trailer for next Monday’s episode of “Lucifer” which teases at another deadly confrontation between the devil and a criminal. The promo for Episode 4 also hinted at what could be the start of a love triangle between Lucifer, Chloe, and Marcus Pierce.
New case
In season 3 episode 4 titled “What Would Lucifer Do?” Chloe Decker (Lauren German) and Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) tackle a new case involving another murder. The partners investigate the death of a youth counselor. In order to find the killer, Chloe, and Lucifer venture into the world of high-end reform programs.

Of course, Lucifer finds himself in trouble again, as with the previous cases, and gets into a violent confrontation with a middle-aged man. The trailer shows him get excited as his opponent makes a move to hit him with a gold club. “Violence, now we’re getting somewhere interesting,” he says. The devil also becomes violent himself in dealing with his suspects. He punches someone and threatens to throw a young man off the cliff.
Meanwhile, Chloe also gets into the action. One of the promotional photos for episode 4 shows the detective aim a gun at someone. She is on the ground beside what appears to be a dead person.
‘What Would Lucifer Do’
The episode also hints at the start of the reported love triangle between Lucifer, Chloe, and Marcus (Tom Welling).
In one of the promotional images, Chloe seems to be in a serious conversation with the lieutenant. According to the synopsis from Bleeding Cool, in episode 4 the detective questions Marcus about his feelings for her.
Whether this refers to the romantic kind is anyone’s guess. Perhaps Chloe wants to know why Marcus is indifferent towards her.
Maybe it is just a façade since he actually likes Chloe. In the trailer, Ella mentions about someone who is so into the detective. She could be talking about Marcus.
This would explain why Lucifer is being attentive to Chloe. Clearly, he senses that something is going on between his partner and Marcus. Of course, Lucifer does not want anything or anyone to get in his special bond with Chloe.
Viewers will finally see how the Lord of Darkness is like when he gets jealous. On the other hand, Marcus might just be the solution to Chloe and Lucifer’s complicated relationship. He might help them finally see what they mean to each other. Marcus might just bring Lucifer and Chloe to admit to their feelings for each other.
