The latest updates and spoilers for "Legends of tomorrow" season 3 reveal new details about Tara Ashe's character Zari and her role in the show. Zari is the newest member of the Legends and powers are connected to season 2 heroine Amaya Jewie a.k.a. Vixen. The latter will make her live-action debut in this week's episode.
There are also speculations that Kid Flash could be joining the cast of the show as "The Flash" star Grant Gustin believes that Wally West has the potential to be a great hero and a chance to step out of Barry Allen's shadow.
Who is Zari?
In the comics, Zari is the love interest of DC anti-hero Black Adam and reincarnation of the Egyptian Goddess, Isis. Her powers include superhuman strength, speed, invulnerability, flight, and she can cast ancient magic.
The TV version of the character is a hacktivist from the future, and she is being hunted down by ARGUS. Zari will eventually encounter the Legends, and they try to convince her to join them on their missions. Tara Ashe stated that Zari would be a reluctant hero and her powers are completely different from the source material, as her abilities came from a Zambesi Totem similar to Amaya Jewie.
"It has lots of powers in it. The totem is something that she associates with the great power it has and also with her family, "Ashe told Entertainment Weekly.
"It's kind of - I don't know if heirloom is quite the right word, but it's something that is in her family."
Comic book fans have speculated that Zari's totem could be the Air Totem and she can command elements of the wind. Her powers will be connected to Vixen's Soul Totem, and Amaya's granddaughter, Kuasa plans to find all of the totems to obtain absolute power.
Kid Flash joining the Legends?
Wally West made a cameo appearance in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 3 premiere episode as the young speedster helped Nathan Heywood stop criminals in Central City.
This led to a speculation that Kid Flash will leave Central City and join the Legends this season. "The Flash" cast member Grant Gustin told EW that Wally will be a little bit "out of place" in Team Flash ever since Barry Allen returned from the Speed Force.
Gustin added that Wally wanted something more out of life and felt that he will always be remembered as Barry's sidekick. Wally will question his role on the team, and the best way to improve himself is to step out of his mentor's shadow.
Since Victor Garber is leaving the show, will Keiynan Lonsdale's character replace him on the team?
Garber will leave the show to join the cast of the Broadway revival of "Hello, Dolly!" on Jan. 20, 2018. The "Titanic" star played Martin Stein, one-haft of the nuclear superhero Firestorm, alongside Jefferson "Jax" Jackson.
John Constantine will also join the Legends in season 3, and his arc will be divided into two parts.
