The 38-year old actress, Katie Holmes, revealed the reason behind cutting her hair short during her appearance at the FAO Schwarz store in New York City on Tuesday. The famous actress added that she's been working on a new project and thus, her gorgeous brown locks needed to be trimmed. In her statement, Holmes confirmed, “It’s for a role. I’m getting ready to play a woman in a Movie called “The Doorman.”
In a report obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Holmes is slated to portray an ex-Marine role in her upcoming movie project. Apart from her new look, the actress further revealed that she's excited about the upcoming film, and that, she's been training for it.
The new 'do' stylist
While speaking to the reporters on Tuesday, Holmes revealed the Hair Stylist behind her new-look. DJ Quintero has given the actress that edgy look for her next movie. It was revealed that her hair stylist was looking for a perfect look where Holmes achieves both a feminine and sporty look to her hair.
Meanwhile, Quintero shared that Holmes body looks incredible so perhaps, her hair must also look perfect, too? While Holmes and Quintero worked closely to achieve her new look, the hair stylist added that he did three haircuts for Holmes to achieve her stylish cut. They decided to do it over a weekend and her hair got shorter and shorter after a number of attempts.
New pixie cut
It is not the first time for Holmes to showcase a dramatic haircut. The actress reportedly had her first pixie cut back in 2008, about ten years ago. However, everyone was left in awe when the actress debuted her newest pixie cut at the event on Tuesday.
The actress sported a long, floral gown during the evening.
She completed her look with a pair of heels and jewelry. She also ensured that everyone's heads were turned with her newest hairdo. In a report obtained by Huffington Post, Holmes's hair stylist was proud about her newest transformation. Quintero took to Instagram and shared the newest photo of the actress.
On the caption, he wrote, “My beautiful friend @katieholmes212 debuting her new cut last night at pop up #FAOschwarz.” Although her hair looked similar to her previous cut, some of her Instagram pictures showed that what she currently has is the shortest cut she ever did to her hair. As she prepares for her upcoming film, the actress also added that she's getting excited about the new role she'll be playing in the movie.
