Everybody knows who Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) hooked up with in the latest "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 premiere. What did the actress really think about the huge surprise? Speaking to Entertainment Weekly over the weekend, Capshaw shed some light on the arrival of Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. She also chatted about how her character is evolving after her divorce from Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and failed relationship with Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominzcyk).
Arizona Robbins' whole drama started when Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) caught her making out with his sister Carina.
While she believes that being caught is part of having a roommate, it's different when the situation involves someone with an apparent "family" connection. The fun part, on the other hand, has something to do with the surprising, deeper connection between Andrew and Arizona after the incident.
Arizona Robbins and her past relationships
Meanwhile, Capshaw explains how her relationship is different from that of Callie and Eliza. Apparently, she thinks that every relationship is different from the other. "Listen, every relationship is different, right? In life, nobody has the same relationship, even though you’re the same person who has a relationship with everyone," she added. Mind you, Arizona Robbins has dated three women, who also happen to speak another language.
But when asked whether she sees her relationship with Carina as a long-term one, Capshaw gave a non-committal response saying, it's up to the writers as well as fans' input that will determine the longevity of the relationship. While she thinks the relationship is making sense, the actress is confident that the writers are ready to make the adjustments in case things are not working.
Hooking up with a colleague's sister
As for Carina's relationship with DeLuca, Arizona doesn't mind that she's the sister of her colleague and roommate. What's even more interesting is that Eliza's "ghosting" played a small impact on her emotions because of the "accidental" arrival of Carina. Jessica Capshaw also revealed every bit of script for the rest of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 cast members who include Camilla Luddington, Jesse Williams, Ellen Pompeo, and Jeremey Pickens, Jr.
Capshaw, meanwhile, failed to confirm whether there's going to be an Arizona-Webber wingman relationship. The actress said that she loves every bit of their conversations in the series but hasn't come around to the idea of being each other's wingman.
