Reports claimed the actor was involved in a road accident while riding his motorcycle earlier this month in Los Angeles. It was further revealed that the Hollywood star crashed his bike after a vehicle cut him off. He sustained bruises and cuts in the incident.

The motorcycle accident took place a few days before "Geostorm" will hit the cinemas on Friday. For the sci-fi film, Gerard Butler takes the lead role of Jake Lawson, a satellite designer, and a former space station commander.

Aside from this movie, the actor is set to star in two other big-screen projects, "Hunter Killer" and "Den of Thieves," which are expected to premiere in 2018.

The first thing that came to his mind after the motorcycle accident was the upcoming filming of these movies. "So I'm sitting down and my feet are killing me and my shoes are ripped and [one guy asks], 'So, how's it all goin'?" And I [tried to say], 'Well I'm supposed to be doing an action movie in about three weeks'" he told ET Online in an interview.

The 47-year-old actor also admitted that the accident was "pretty painful" but at the same time thankful that the episode has made him realize the importance of life.

"I could have landed any number of ways that would have taken me out," he explained.

Gerard Butler recounted the incident and alleged that a female driver made an illegal U-Turn and crashed her car into his motorcycle. "I smacked the car, went flying through the air and did a somersault and landed and it hurt a bit," he added.

The incident has left him five fractures in his right foot, a torn meniscus, and several other injuries. The actor, however, reassured the fans that he will be fine. In fact, he has been actively updating his social media followers about his promotional activities and whereabouts.
