The Cooper family continues to grow in "Riverdale" season 2. Aside from Polly's twins who are due to arrive sometime this season, the Cooper family is also set to welcome back one of their own in the form of Chic Cooper, Betty's (Lili Reinhart) long-lost brother. Back in the first season, Alice (Madchen Amick) made an explosive revelation, in which she admitted that she did become pregnant in high school, resulting to a baby boy that her then-boyfriend Hal (Lochlyn Munro) forced her to give away. This revelation shocked Betty, who for the longest time believed that it was just her and her sister Polly that completed the Cooper family.

In the new season of "Riverdale," Betty is set to meet her long-lost brother, Chic, who will be played by Hart Denton. In fact, Amick just snapped a photo of her on-screen son and shared it on her Instagram. In it, she called Denton a "sweetest human." Check out the post below.

Chic to be pulled into a 'wild ride'

"Riverdale" star Madchen Amick's Instagram post of herself with her on-screen son Hart Denton, who plays Chic Cooper on the show, also included a caption that hints at his storyline. The actress wrote, "Buckle-up sweet boy, it’s gonna be a wild ride!!!" This may be indicative that Chic will definitely be involved in all the crazy things that have been happening in the town of Riverdale.

For one, the criminal who shot Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) is still at large. In fact, Ms. Grundy has become his latest victim, further implying that this man may be out to harm Archie, as the murderer been targeting people close to him. In a bold move, Veronica (Camila Mendes) is accusing her very own parents of placing a hit on Fred.

Hermione (Marisol Nichols) immediately shot back at her daughter, warning her to be careful about her baseless accusations against her and her husband, Hiram (Mark Consuelos), who made his very first appearance during the premiere.

Lili Reinhart on Chic fan theories

Comic Book recently reported that even the stars of "Riverdale" do not know the complete backstory of Chic Cooper just yet.

Lili Reinhart told Teen Vogue (via Comic Book) that "We're kind of on the same page as the fans a little bit" because they never really get any information until they receive the script, which arrives in their hands a few days before the shoot. So basically, Reinhart explained that "we find out one episode at a time." The sophomore season of "Riverdale" airs on Wednesdays at 8 PM on The CW.
