Ed Sheeran just delivered an unfortunate news that might affect the schedule of his "Divide" tour. In an Instagram post on Monday, the singer-songwriter shared a photo of his right arm in a cast and revealed that the injury was due to a Bicycle Accident.

The "Shape of You" artist refused to give further details while waiting for his doctor's advice. He, however, said that the injury may have an affect on his upcoming tour dates in Asia. Ed Sheeran is supposed to continue his concert tour for its fifth leg after a two-week break.

'Divide' tour in Asia

The singer-songwriter is scheduled to perform for his fans in Taiwan on Sunday, followed by a series of shows in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Indonesia. He is also set to bring his "Divide" tour in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India and will wrap up this year's concert activities in the United Arab Emirates on November 23.

Ed Sheeran will resume his world tour with month-long performances in Australia and New Zealand in March 2018. He is expected to conclude his third concert tour in November 2018, with an estimated number of shows at 201.

But after he injured his arm in a bicycle accident, it might be hard for the British artist to perform without his trademark acoustic guitar riffs.

Similarly, the singer has previously said that he is not open to the idea of performing with a backing band.

"I don't feel like there's anything interesting or new about seeing a singer-songwriter with a band behind them," he said in a BBC interview. "I don't feel like if I suddenly got a band, everyone would go, "Wow!" I actually feel it'd take away from me."

The internet reacts to Ed Sheeran's bicycle accident

Not much has been said about the incident as the singer and his team have yet to provide further details of the accident and his current condition.

Fans, on the other hand, extended their well-wishes to Ed Sheeran through social media as they hope for his speedy recovery.

Ed Sheeran has previously canceled a show from his "Divide" tour due to safety concerns amid protests in St.

Louis back in September. Aside from that, the "Thinking Out Loud" artist has been going from places to places to perform for his international fans and to promote his latest studio album.

His "Divide" album has earned several awards since it was launched in March. The package has also remained at the top of multiple international album charts, including US Billboard, UK Albums, Australian Albums, and more.
