“Criminal Minds” showrunner Erica Messer officially confirmed in August that one of the show’s notorious serial killers is coming back. Peter Lewis (Bodhi Elfman) a.k.a Mr. Scratch has met his demise during Season 13 premiere that freed Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and his son Jack (Cade Owens) from WITSEC. However, the BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) team is about to face yet another devastating case in the person of (although it’s an understatement) the cannibalistic killer Floyd Feylinn Ferell (Jamie Kennedy). Shemar Moore has left the show in Season 11 but made a guest appearance on Season 12 finale.
Now, the actor is visiting the series yet again and it looks like terrifying things are set to kick off next week.
Shemar Moore and Jamie Kennedy return
TV Guide recently shared the teaser for “Criminal Minds” Season 13 Episode 5 that stoked a lot of Shemar Moore fans as he is reprising his role as Agent Derek Morgan. The preview shows his baby girl Penelope Garcia’s (Kirsten Vangsness) excitement upon seeing him back in BAU. Unfortunately, a spine-chilling scene in the promo shows the cannibalistic serial killer back in action. "It's the most mind-blowing case they've ever faced," reads the teaser’s caption.

Garcia’s challenge
Fans can recall in Season 3 Episode 8 titled “Lucky” when Ferell first appeared as a BBQ restaurant owner in Bridgewater, Florida.
The serial killer had a homemade cookbook that contained human recipes including "Kobe Girl Steak” and "Skewered She.” When the BAU went after Ferell, Garcia was shot that made her more vulnerable even until now. The preview shows Morgan trying to console Penelope by telling her “You’re okay. I got you.” By the looks of it, it seems that she is the killer’s next possible target and as what the trailer warned, it’s going to be mind-boggling.
Will Morgan champion the team?
During the Season 12 finale, Morgan was summoned back in BAU to help the team with Mr. Scratch’s case who later orchestrated the car crash that killed Stephen Walker (Damon Gupton). Now that he is set to help the team again with the cannibalistic serial killer Floyd Feylinn Ferell, fans hope that he will be the same tough Morgan who’s been always the first person in line in their missions.
Theories have it that Ferell might have escaped from the mental facility where he was incarcerated and strikes back in action after Mr. Scratch’s death. Hopefully, this will be another winning case for the team especially that Morgan returns to lend a hand.
“Criminal Minds” Season 13 Episode 5 is titled “Lucky Strikes” and is slated to air on October 25 on CBS at 10 PM EST. Don’t miss this mind-blowing episode!
