The latest updates and spoilers for the "Venom" spin-off will feature the start of the film's production next month and three new actors competing for a major role in the movie.
Production begins in October
The production for Sony's "Venom" spin-off has been pushed back once again, and it is scheduled to start by the end of October. The film's production was originally set in September but was delayed due to unknown reasons.
According to Omega Underground, the "Spider-Man" spin-off movie will start on Oct. 2. They will begin filming in Atlanta and New York, and they will likely expand more scenes in San Francisco.
The delay will give the crew enough time to prepare for its pre-production and fans will have to wait for behind-the-scenes photos on the internet for possible spoilers.
The film's delay will not affect its scheduled release date as the spin-off will hit theaters on Oct. 5, 2018.This will give Sony a year to film, edit, and promote the movie. The "Venom" spin-off will star Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, a disgraced Daily Bugle reporter who bonded with the alien symbiote and turned him into a hulking monster.
Eddie became Spider-Man's greatest enemy as the symbiote revealed his true identity and has all of his powers. Eddie also has the ability to negate Peter Parker's spider sense for sneak attacks.
It has been speculated that the spin-off will have a different origin story as Eddie will gain his abilities from a pandemic virus. The virus will help Eddie recover from a fatal disease during the film's plot.
New cast member added?
Variety reporter Justin Kroll tweeted that "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith is competing with Riz Ahmed for a major role in the "Venom" spin-off.
Ahmed is speculated for the role of Cletus Cassidy a.k.a. Carnage in the movie. Other actors joining Smith are "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" star Pedro Pascal and "Rust and Bones" actor Mathias Schoenarts.
Carnage will serve as the movie's main antagonist and he is the product of another symbiote and the maniacal Cletus Cassidy in the comics.
Cletus is a psychotic mass murderer who became Eddie's cellmate in prison. The Venom symbiote reunited with Brock and they escaped prison.
Unbeknownst to Eddie, the symbiote left its offspring in his cell and merged with Cletus becoming an unstoppable bloodthirsty monster and killed everyone in prison. It took the combined might of Venom and Spider-Man to defeat Carnage and stop his rampage in New York.
Sources say Matt Smith, Pedro Pascal and Mathias Schoenarts also up for the part https://t.co/rbMCY0Quwn
