If people loved the first season of NBC's "This Is Us," they will not be able to contain themselves during the upcoming season. Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, September 26 at 9 p.m. with 18 more episodes.
The storyline will continue but in a more dramatic fashion. From the very first episode of the season until the finale, fans will learn more about the Pearson family – including even more joy and sadness than in the last season. There is time for you to stock up on tissues because producers say it will be an emotional season.
Fans definitely will learn more about Jack's death in the first episode.
Viewers know that there are a lot of flashbacks that two characters who died will still be part of the series. For instance, Jack, played by Milo Ventimiglia, will appear in flashbacks. Randall's biological father, William, played by Ron Cephas Jones, died but he will continue to be seen in flashbacks throughout Season 2.
What to expect
Season 2 will pick up where the Season 1 ended. There will be repercussions from the argument Jack and Rebecca had during the finale. Kevin is heading off to Los Angeles to star in a Ron Howard film where he will co-star with Sylvester Stallone playing himself in a cameo role in only one episode. So, enjoy Stallone the short time he will be in the series. Kate, played by Chrissy Metz, will pursue a singing career.
Randall, played by Sterling K. Brown, has persuaded his wife to agree to an adoption.
Randall's adoption process
Randall and his wife are starting an adoption process that might surprise fans – because when people think of adoptions, they think of babies. Since Randall and Beth already have two girls, viewers might speculate that they will adopt a baby boy and name him William after Randall's deceased father.
Let's just say the newest member of Randall and Beth's family will totally shock viewers.
Cast members become regulars
More background will be given about Kevin's ex-wife Sophie, played by Alexandra Breckenridge, who will be a regular. That should tell viewers something about the relationship she and Kevin will have. Miguel, Jack's best friend and Rebecca's second husband, played by Jon Huertas, will have more screen time because he also will be a regular.
Most people might not know that Sterling K. Brown's wife in real life has had a small role in the series. Her name is Ryan Michelle Bathe who played Yvette, the mother of young Randall's friend. She advised Jack and Rebecca how to cut Randall's hair when he was growing up. She has a recurring role, so perhaps she will show up in Season 2 even though she won't have any scenes with her husband.
