"The Voice" returns to NBC on Monday, September 25 at 8 p.m. after a long absence. At first, contestants will try to impress the four coaches with their singing ability during the blind audition segment. Those who make it through that particular phase will be mentored by the coach they select. The battle rounds, knockout rounds, and the playoffs will come later. A lot of singing and coaching will go on by the time the season ends with a live show on Tuesday, December 19.

Original coaches

Adam Levine is returning to "The Voice" as an expectant father. He and his model wife, Namibian Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo are expecting their second child. They already have a one-year-old daughter named Dusty Rose. Levine has been a judge on “The Voice” since it began airing on April 26, 2011. He was the winning coach at the end of Seasons 1, 5, and 9.

Levine is the lead singer for the Grammy Award-winning pop rock band Maroon 5.

The 38-year-old singer is also an actor in both television and movies. Contestants who choose Levine as their coach will certainly be in safe hands. Singer Joe Jonas will be on Team Adam as an advisor.

Blake Shelton has been on "The Voice" as long as Adam has. They both started out with Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green. Aguilera was there on Seasons 1–3, 5, 8, and 10. Green was a coach during Seasons 1–3, and 5.

There have been other coaches on a rotational basis, but Shelton and Levine have never left their chairs. Shelton's girlfriend, Gwen Stefani has coached alongside Shelton on Seasons 7, 9, and 12.

Shelton has won more times than any other coach. The 41-year-old country music singer has had five winners on his team in Seasons 2–4, 7, and 11. He often teases the other coaches about how many times he has won. This season, Shelton will have Rascal Flatts to help his team.

Rotating coaches

Miley Cyrus, whose real name is Destiny Hope, was an advisor in the tenth season and a coach for Season 11. She took Season 12 off but is returning for Season 13. So far, the 24-year-old singer hasn't won, but she already has a plan in place to win the competition this season. Besides, Miley will have her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, as the advisor on her team.

Jennifer Hudson will be a judge on the American version of "The Voice" after having been on the British version for Season 6.

Her team won over will.i.am, Tom Jones and Gavin Rossdale. The "American Idol" alum is a Grammy and Academy Award winner and the first female to win on "The Voice UK." The 36-year-old singer will have Kelly Rowland to help her team.

Watch "The Voice" on Monday and Tuesday, September 25 and 26 on NBC at 8 p.m.
