Tarek El Moussa did not fail to do his daddy duties after he hosted his daughter's birthday party on Saturday. In an interview with E! News, the male "Flip or Flop" host said Taylor has always dreamed of having a mermaid-themed party; hence, he made this dream come true for her seventh birthday bash.

"I knew she wanted a mermaid theme. There's a little mermaid place we went to once and she wanted to go so I said why not bring the mermaids home," he recalled. "She's super excited and when she got here, she was super impressed."

The birthday bash was attended by family and friends, who were entertained by performers dressed as mermaids.

Christina El Moussa, however, was not present during the celebration but did not miss out on treating Taylor and her classmates with donuts on Thursday.

Christina and Tarek El Moussa even shared a snippet from their mini celebration with their daughter who was seen holding balloons and a plate with a donut. "Happy 7th birthday, Taylor Reese. Smart, fun, funny, sassy, sweet and beautiful. Taylor, you are the most amazing little girl and I'm so lucky to be your mama. Love you more than the," the female host wrote.

"Happy 7th [birthday] to my big girl! Ugh she's growing so fast! I was so excited when mommy brought donuts to class...[then] realized she didn't have enough for me," the father of two captioned the same photo.

On Friday, Tarek went on a dinner date with Taylor who asked him to dress fancy for the romantic night. The seven-year-old blonde channeled a black dress matched with a pair of ballet shoes, while the male host also sported an all-black look for the date night.

What went wrong between Tarek and Christina?

Since they announced their separation in December, the HGTV stars promised to stay committed to co-parenting their children.

The estranged couple even agreed to work together as "Flip or Flop" co-hosts regardless of what happened in their marriage.

The El Moussas went through a lot of difficulties before they eventually decided to call it quits. Back in 2013, Tarek was diagnosed with thyroid cancer before the doctors found out that he had testicular cancer.

The two admitted that the entire family suffered from financial setbacks during those times. But instead of giving up on each other, the couple have stuck together to prove their commitment to their marriage.

Just when everything was going well on Tarek's health, the "Flip or Flop" hosts suddenly announced their separation which rooted from a heated argument that involved the police authorities.
