A scene from one of the teaser trailers for the upcoming “Justice League” movie had fans talking about the possible appearance of Supergirl, Comic Books Galaxy reported. Warner Bros neither announced this particular character nor made any statements about her.
However, the trailer launched at San Diego Comic-Con revealed some details that led fans to believe it might be Supergirl. They were referring to the particular scene when Bruce Wayne was facing a hologram of a person wearing a red cape.
This scene had the dialogue, “No Kryptonian.” While fans assumed that this could be Superman himself, the thinner legs and feminine features of the figure led them to believe that it could belong to his female side-kick.
Superman’s character will appear in the latter part of the “Justice League” movie. It is considered to be the direct sequel to “Batman v Superman” where the Man Of Steel died at the end of the story.
Who is Supergirl?
According to Comic Books Galaxy, Supergirl or Kara Zor-El comes from the same planet where Superman originated. She arrived on Earth after a ship mishap and was given superpowers from the Sun. The ship crashed on Earth just as it happened with the Man of Steel’s arrival.
While Warner Bros has not released official statements about her introduction to the movie, Kara Zor-El has been established to exist within the DC Extended Universe. The story of Supergirl is currently being retold through a TV series adaptation in the United States.
Her character is also poised to appear in the upcoming “Man of Steel 2,” the website noted. However, if she is introduced in “Justice League,” this will come as a surprise for DC fans. This could also lead to more plot twists and opportunities in the story in the future of the DC movie franchise.
‘Justice League’ movie
Meanwhile, forecasts on the opening box-office earnings of “Justice League” were recently released by Box Office Pro.
The movie is expected to make an estimated $330 million during its opening.
This is considered to be 50 percent more than the earnings of “Wonder Woman” during its opening weekend, pegged at around $103 million. However, these forecasts are usually less than the actual figures.
For instance, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was predicted to garner around $154 million during box-office opening, but it earned over $166 million in the actual screening. The upcoming movie will bring together Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck portraying their superhero roles.
