“Supergirl” season 3 released a new trailer recently and it seems like Melissa Benoist’s titular role got a lot tougher than we think. Season 3 is the second installment featured on The CW network after the series move from CBS.
According to Screen Rant, the series will immediately deal with the events from Season 2 finale. It can be recalled that Mon-El (Chris Wood) left earth, leaving Kara because of the lead in the atmosphere that could kill him. After the chaotic battle against the Daxamite raise, Kara Danvers (Benoist) achieved victory in protecting National City.
Unfortunately, her decision had to be made with several consequences.
New Promo, New Villain
As usual, new promos usually reveal potential villains and allies. This time, “Supergirl” Season 3 introduces a new foe named Robert DuBois, a.k.a. Bloodsport. As fans all know, it was already reported that the main Big Bad of the season is Reign, who is portrayed by Odette Annable.
Before the battle against the world killer Reign, Supergirl had to deal with Bloodsport. His character was described as a military man gone rogue. Screen Rant revealed the operation behind Bloodsport’s criminal acts as well.
He would reportedly steal gadgets and items from his old base to hide an underwater nuclear weapon. There are no further details regarding DuBois’s plans against National City but Kara Danvers surely won’t let a villain slide if he has the potential to harm her city.
Is Supergirl Stronger?
Meanwhile, the short-clip promo is filled with action and Season 3 features a more determined Kara. She is still trying to balance stress at work and being National City’s superhero. Will she be able to handle both after Mon-El’s exit? An avid viewer would know that Mon-El plays a significant part as Kara’s lover.
Furthermore, the report suggests that Bloodsport will not be an average villain of the week as he is very confident in the way he commits his violent acts. While Kara may seem tougher during the promo clip, we know that things will personally be hard for her.
Season 3 will pick up a few months after the heartbreaking event of Mon-El’s departure.
Kara ends up throwing herself into her work, leaving her no option but to set aside her personal struggles. During the first promo of the series, she is even contemplating giving up her human persona.
Viewers will have a chance to look at the past Kara and Alex Danvers too. An upcoming “Supergirl” Season 3 episode entitled “Midvale” will feature flashbacks of the Danvers duo’s earlier years.
