American actress and singer, Selena Gomez, recently underwent Kidney Transplant surgery. The 25-year-old singer was struggling from lupus which can cause kidney damage. According to an Instagram post by Gomez earlier this week, her friend and fellow actress Francia Raisa donated her kidney to the "bad lair" singer.

The singer has been out of the limelight recently as she was recovering from the life-saving surgery. Exact details regarding the date of the procedure or the singer's current health condition are unknown.

Gomez thanked 29-year-old Raisa in her post, saying that she gave her “the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney.” The post, which received 6.9 million likes, also included a photograph of Selena and Francia holding hands while lying next to each other in a hospital room. A second photo showed the scar on Selena's abdomen.

Soon after Selena's post went viral, Raisa responded via her own social media account. She wrote that she is "beyond grateful" to be able to save a life, as well as to change her own in the process.
