Around four months after her kidney transplant, Selena Gomez was recently spotted in her best health on the sets of Woody Allen’s upcoming film. Metro reported that she was wearing a short red-colored skirt paired with a simple orange-colored shirt and long coat.
The songstress revealed on Instagram that she underwent a Kidney Transplant in May to receive treatment for lupus. It was her best friend, Francia Raisa who donated the kidney to her.
Gomez was also spotted leaving her loft in New York City together with her boyfriend, The Weeknd. She was wearing a light blue-colored dress paired with trendy sneakers and a white-colored purse, People magazine reported.
She also shared how her boyfriend became “one of her biggest supports” when she was recovering from her surgery.
The former Disney songstress also attended the Harper’s Bazaar party at New York Fashion Week over the past few days with boyfriend The Weeknd. Despite the post-surgery marks, she wowed the media by wearing glamorous outfits as she graced the event.
Kept a secret
Selena Gomez’s operation was kept this a secret from her fans. The medical procedure had to be performed to treat her of the lupus disease, ABC News reported.
The “Bad Liar” singer revealed her kidney transplant via Instagram where she posted her photos inside the hospital with her friend Raisa. The photos showed them side by side on the hospital bed, with the medical equipment over their bodies.
She shared that fans may have noticed her laying low from her career during the summer as some of them have previously asked why she has not promoted new projects. But Gomez noted that she was proud of this decision to temporarily lay low from her career since she needed to attend to her health issues.

Grateful
In her Instagram post, the singer also thanked her friend Francia Raisa for her effort to help her recover from the disease.
“[Francia] gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me,” Gomez wrote. She added how “incredibly blessed” she is, and noted how the disease is still misunderstood today despite the progress made by the healthcare community. She also added a link to a lupus research group for more information about the disease.
Raisa is a 29-year-old actress who plays the role of Adrian in a family drama aired on ABC. She is also grateful for the sacrifice she made for her friend. Raisa said that it was a life-changing moment for her and since this has become a part of their story together as friends, CNN reported.
