Ghost (Oman Hardwick), Tommy (Joseph Sikora), and Kanan (50 Cent) surprisingly joined forces in the season finale of “Power” Season 4 against Dre (Rotimi). Ghost and Kanan have been feuding since the television show started.
Now, they will unite to face their double-crossing foe in “Power” Season 5. Tasha (Naturi Naughton) will also be seen protecting her children from their father’s enemies. Also, Ghost’s former lover, Angela Valdes (Lela Loren), will continue to take her vengeance out on her ex-lover
A different kind of offering to fans
In an interview with TV Line, the television show’s creator Courtney Kemp talked about the surprising alliance that will continue to be featured in “Power” Season 5.
“We don’t have so much more of this television series to go,” Kemp said. So, people behind the crime drama series wanted to give what their viewers want by reuniting Ghost, Kanan, and Tommy.
Starz has yet to announce if the television show’s fifth season will be its swan song as Starz only renewed it to continue until the fifth season in 2016. Thus, fans should just enjoy what the network has to offer in the upcoming new installment.
Kemp went on to say that the scene where Ghost and Kanan were in a car together was a subtle hint of their alliance's beginning. “There’s a lot of history here,” she said. She strongly believed that the audience would definitely want to know more about the two’s history and their characters.
She, then, teased that viewers are about to witness the long-standing relationship between the three men in the fifth season.
The unexpected reunion
Courtney Kemp also told Deadline that the real plan is to take a huge step and some surprising cast changes in “Power” Season 5.
Although Starz will be the one that will decide in the television show’s future, its creator is eyeing to make some “really big moves.”
With that, fans are going to witness the series’ transformation that can be expected to be something really different as it continues to air.
She also teased that it will be a very interesting change. “It’s actually kind of a strange bedfellows’ moment,” she said.
Kemp also described Ghost, Kanan, and Tommy’s alliance as a family reunion. Just like how family reunion goes, it is also the same thing that will happen in their get together. Although they still have resentments with each other, they will be united in an aim to bring Dre down and possibly kill him.
“Power” Season 5 is expected to return in 2018 on Starz.
