Rap star, Lil Wayne, was found unconscious in a Chicago hotel room on Sunday. The Grammy award-winning rapper was said to have suffered an epileptic seizure and was taken to Northwestern Hospital. According to sources, Wayne suffered another seizure at the hospital. Lil Wayne was reported in 2013 to have a neurological disorder which he confirmed in his interview with L.A. radio station. “This is not my first; second, third, fourth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of Seizures, y’all never hear about them,” he said during that time.
Lil Wayne’s battle with epilepsy has been a lifelong struggle
The 34-year old rapper has been diagnosed to have epilepsy and has been hospitalized for several times in the past because of seizures. In 2016, Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Jr., had to make an unplanned landing while on a flight after he suffered from multiple attacks in the air. Way back in 2013, the artist was admitted to ICU in Los Angeles after suffering life-threatening attacks of epilepsy.
In his past interviews, the rapper admitted that he regularly takes a medication to control his neurological disorder. On Monday, Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter tweeted an update about her father’s health state. “My dad is doing fine everyone!
Thanks for the concerns,” the tweet read.
Lil Wayne canceled his Las Vegas show
Wayne, who is currently on a tour with the hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd, was scheduled to perform in Drai’s night club in Las Vegas on September 3. Because of the seizure incident, the club posted an announcement about the cancellation of Wayne’s performance.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lil Wayne will be canceling his previously scheduled performance.” The club further added that their priority is the health state and well-being of their artists. The whole club wishes for a fast and a speedy recovery of the rapper.
According to Reuters reports, the rapper has been advised by doctors in the Northwestern Hospital to be hospitalized for a few days to ensure his fast recovery.
