Amid her busy schedule this weekend with her State of the World Tour, Janet Jackson visited Hurricane victims at the George R. Brown Center. The Grammy Award-winner reportedly also dedicated her Houston concert to the victims by donating the proceeds to the relief effort.

Janet Jackson brings tears to the eyes of the hurricane victims

On Wednesday, the 51-year-old superstar promised to offer “something special” to the hurricane-affected Houston. And on Friday, before her Houston concert at the Toyota Center, Jackson visited the evacuees at their shelter with her brother Randy Jackson and the Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner. Jackson greeted the crowd of 1600 evacuees with her charming smile and hugged her fans, who were immensely moved by her gesture. After her show, Toyota Centre tweeted that the “All for You” singer will donate her collections from the show to the relief efforts of the Hurricane.

The transition from the Unbreakable World Tour to State of the World Tour

Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable World Tour was completely postponed, due to her pregnancy and family plans with her billionaire husband, Wassim Al Mana. After the birth of son Eissa, however, the situation changed as the singer made an official announcement of her divorce and that the long due Unbreakable tour will now be the State of the World Tour.

Much like her previously released tracks, the tour is based on a social awareness theme, to address complex problems like racism, domestic violence, etc. The singer reportedly has lost around 60 pounds, in just a few months after her delivery and is all set to enthrall her worldwide fans.

Just as an old saying goes, good deeds always pay off, it was on the same date that the lawsuit against Janet Jackson and Live Nation Entertainment had been finally settled down.

The series of cancellations and postponing of her concerts in 2016 had not only disappointed the fans but also lead to another serious legal concern for Jackson, apart from her divorce with ex- husband, Al Mana. However, in the final settlement, the fans have received a significant amount as compensation, thereby ensuring a relief for the singer.
