The past year has been tough for Jana Kramer. The actress/singer separated from her husband, Michael Caussin, following rumors that Caussin had cheated on her. The couple appeared headed towards divorce, yet in a recent interview on the podcast Mouthing Off With Olivia, Kramer revealed that she’s committed to working on her marriage.
The couple's history
Kramer’s love life has been filled with ups and downs. Prior to her marriage to Caussin, she was married twice. Her first marriage was to a man named Michael Gambino, while her second was to Jonathan Schaech.
Both marriages lasted only a few months before Kramer filed for divorce. Following her second divorce, Kramer was briefly engaged to fellow country musician, Brantley Gilbert.
After her short-lived engagement to Gilbert, Kramer began dating Caussin, who was a football player for the NFL team The Washington Redskins. Kramer and Caussin married in May 2015 after less than a year of dating. Eight months later, the couple became parents when Kramer gave birth to their daughter, Jolie.
With a new husband and a beautiful baby girl, life appeared good for Kramer, who seemed to have found her happiness. Yet, trouble loomed for the couple. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, rumors swirled about Caussin being unfaithful.
The couple never commented on the rumors, yet afterward, Caussin entered rehab for an unknown reason. Following, the cheating rumors and Caussin’s stint in rehab, the couple decided to separate.
Their future
Despite the hardships they faced in the past year, the couple is dedicated to making their marriage work. Kramer praised her husband for making strides in order to become a better person.
She also says therapy is not only helping their marriage but helping them learn more about themselves in the process.
Even though the couple is making progress in their relationship, Kramer admits that some days are tougher than others. There have been times where she’s felt like giving up, yet she determined to keep going.
One of the main reasons the couple is working hard on the marriage is not only for themselves but for the sake of their daughter.
There’s no telling what the future holds for the country star and the football player. But the two are committed to each other and being good parents to their child. No matter what happens Kramer and Caussin will continue to be an important part of each other’s lives.
